Leads Unlimited Board Responsibilities
President:
Leader and executive decision maker. Gives the board and club
direction and goals. Delegates responsibilities to board members and oversees
their progress. Appoints new members to board when openings occur. Coordinates
efforts of board. Although president is leader of the group, majority
vote of the board governs club. President presides at regular and board meetings.
Leaps tall buildings in a single bound.
Vice President:
Stands in for president in his or her absence to run regular meetings
and steps in if president can no longer serve for term. Serves as membership
chairman by keeping all club membership records for his or her term, turning
them over to successor. VP keeps track of attendance, calling those members
who do not attend regularly, and brings same to the attention of board. VP
is in charge of greeting visitors or delegating that function; making sure
that applicants have by-laws, info sheets, and applications; and moderates
any conflicts between existing and perspective members. Leaps medium buildings
in a single bound.
Secretary:
Takes the minutes of regular and board meetings. Keeps the stock
of the group's forms, stamps, seals, artwork, and other important papers.
Takes the attendance at the meetings and passes it and the minutes to
the newsletter publisher. Publishes, at the board's pleasure, the membership roster
of the group. Disburses logo notebooks with business card sheets to new members.
Keeps member cardfile and circulates same at meetings. Leaps houses in
a single bound.
Treasurer:
Oversees the group's bank account. Disburses funds from same
with board approval for any expense over $25, or delegates that responsibility
with the president's approval. Keeps track of status of members
dues payment, and reports same to board. Gives once a month treasurer's report
to the group at the request of the president. Leaps doghouses in a single bound.
Member At Large:
Serves as a backup to any member of the board who cannot fulfill
their term. Votes as a member of the board. Serves as the speaker scheduler.
Publishes a list of same for the secretary at least once a month. Sees
that the club meeting notice is published in appropriate venues. Reminds president
take a single bound before leaping tall buildings.
General:
Each board member has one vote on all matters the board considers.
A quorum of three members must be present to conduct group business at
a board meeting.
